Job Description

In accordance with the policies, procedures and standards, the Assistant Manager – Gaming Support manages the maintenance staff and ensures that gaming facilities and systems operate properly. Accordingly, the Assistant Manager will work in both an office setting, scheduling workers on repair assignments, as well as in the field, arrangement of slot machines and gaming tables, solving air-conditioning or other facilities malfunction. Aside from maintenance duties, he is also responsible for coordinating with contractors on renovations, remodels, and new construction. Actively supports senior manager in efforts to improve the Quality of Engineering delivered to its customers. Informs the Director of Engineering thru the Asst. Director of any concerns impacting on his ability to successfully discharge his duties.

Operation and Maintenance

  • Ensure the smooth daily operation and guest appeal of the gaming facilities.
  • The Assistant Manager-Gaming Support directs the maintenance staff on small repairs, such as patching drywall, fixing faulty wiring, or unclogging drains, arrangement of slot machines and gaming tables, etc.
  • In more complex problems, the Assistant Manager-Gaming Support to consult drawings or product manuals to fix all gaming facilities
  • The Assistant Manager-Gaming Support assigns staff to repair sprinklers and other Fire Safety equipment with gaming area.
  • Assistant Manager-Gaming Support acts as managers of maintenance workers and responsible for their training and mentoring.

 Budget

  • Supports the Engineering Director in preparing the annual Engineering budget.
  • Reviews components of the budgets prepared by Senior Managers to help identify improvements, better accuracy and the like.
  • Assist in monitoring progressive expenditure and implementation of the associated works.
  • Provides support to Senior Managers in identifying opportunities to improve.

 Standard Operating Procedures

  • Assist Senior Managers in streamlining and upgrading SOP’s.              

 Energy Conservation

  • Monitors application of Energy Conservation and utility saving initiatives.
  • Reinforces the concept and accountability for energy and utility saving based on the principle that “users are accountable for wastage” and Engineering will support their efforts while ensuring a reliable and efficient supply.

 Customer Service

  • Establishes regular dialogue with other Divisions and Departments, i.e., internal and external customers, to resolve concerns that may arise and identify improvements.

 Training Program

  • Assist the Director, Engineering and Senior Managers in implementing training program covering technical operations and management issues.
  • Coordinates with other divisions and departments so training on Engineering and Energy conservation is extended to them.

 Fire & Life Safety

  • Supports the Senior Manager, Fire & Life Safety in all aspects related to ensuring that SOP’s are implemented by all Divisions and Department and that training is extended to all staff as require.

 Reports

  • Prepares timely report in accordance with the approved scope and format affecting the “Operations” department, efficiency, costs and the like.
  • Recommends and/or executes management policies to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, discharge, re-assign, or discipline employees.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to superior.
  • Performs other reasonable job duties as assigned by superiors from time to time.

Job Requirement

  • Degree or Advance Diploma in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and a registered license holder in either of these disciplines.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Maintenance and Operation of Building Services including architectural and finishes in four of five-star hotels and casinos of which at least 7 years must relate to business type hotel& resorts with gaming facilities in the capacity of Assistant Manager or similar.
  • Experience in Engineering Budget Forecast and Budget Control.
  • Good command in both written and spoken English and Tagalog.
  • Good working knowledge in PC skills and use of all MS Office applications, including outlook.
  • Excellent Technical knowledge in either mechanical or electrical engineering related to building services for hotels and casinos.
  • Good working knowledge for all building services used in 5-star hotels and casinos including audio visual systems, security systems and the like.
  • Good problem-solving skills, hands on approach with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written Vietnamese& English is a must.
