Job Description

Scope of Position:

  • Assisting the Vice President in overseeing the functionality and safety of the facility to protect the well-being of all guests and team members in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
  • To oversee the Hoiana integrated resort oprations and drive quality standards and seamless service throughout Staff Services, Hoiana central hub and Safety & OSHA.
  • This role will encompass the formulation and implementation of operating procedures and standards of operations, collaboration with the management and development of team members, and liaison with executive management and stakeholders to ensure Hoiana’s short and long-term goals are met with respect to the services rendered.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Establish and implement departmental policies and procedures to increase and maintain the efficiency of the division.
  • Identify areas to improve communication and the smooth flow of information between departments.
  • Oversea proper operation and collaboration of various sections of the department as well as connection with other departments across Hoiana operations division. Work closely with Laundry and Fleet Services departments to streamline processes across key departments and ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Perform regular assessments of the operation’s strategic market and industry position to ascertain long-term viability, competitive strengths and weaknesses, and strategic/tactical opportunities.
  • Maintain effective communications with operating supervisors. Conducts staff meetings to review plans, projects, projections and departmental progress. 
  • Manage, coach and develop all employees within the department to ensure competence, performance and succession objectives are met.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and provide support to other divisions when required.
  • Acts in absence of the Vice President – Resort Operations.

Safety and Security

  • Assure safety and health of Hoiana’s employees, guests and visitors is the top priority.
  • Direct and oversee the functionality and safety of the assigned facility, including, but not limited to, physical buildings, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, life safety systems and grounds according to local law and regulations.
  • Liase with the safety & security team and facilities management in re-inforecement of fire prevention, work safety & security practices.
  • Manage and maintain record of crisis management plan, fire drill and establishment of emergency respondence team.
  • Identify and develope solutions to safety concerns, proactively engaging related departments in driving long term improvement in safety at the property.
  • Host government safety audit, organise fire drill as well ass practices requied by local regulations.

Staff services & hub operations

  • Assist Vice President of Resort Operations in delivering operational excellence in the integrated resort and Hoiana Hub by developing staff service policy, managing inventory, outsourced services, product replacement and maintenance.
  • Actively seek for feedback from all sources to provide input for the management team in evaluating service efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensure the hub layout is optimally arranged for maximum efficiency for the complex’s increasing demand in long run.
  • Monitor and ensure staff service contractors performance meets requirements and expectation.
  • Cultivates healthy employee morale by promoting a pro-active work environment and an atmosphere of teamwork.

Job Requirement

  • Open to local and expat.
  • Bachelor degree and a higher education completed required.
  • Three years of experience as Director of Operation or similar position. Thorough knowledge in resort operation, rooms division or staff services are preferred.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
  • Professional communication and presentation skills.
  • Well organized, analytical, multitask, detail oriented and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work self-directed, handle a fast-paced, busy, under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to respond to handle difficult or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
  • Microsoft Office knowledge, computer skills and Internet applications are required.
